Recording updates
Here are some awesome news from the Age of Woe camp. Since we got back home from tour and throughout the summer, we will work hard on all the material for our upcoming full-length album. We will again team up with producer Carlos Sepulveda (NO HAWAII, JOE BARESI, PSYCORE), but also with legendary producer Lennart Östlund from Polar Studios (LED ZEPPELIN etc) in July for the live recording and production of our forthcoming album. Get stoked!
Back from tour
We are back from our 10 day tour through Denmark, Germany and Poland. It was a great tour with a lot of amazing shows and it was very nice to meet all our old friends, as well as making some new great ones. We are truly grateful for all the warmth, kindness and support we have been treated with during the tour and we wish to thank you all for that. It means the world to us. You know who you are.
Also, a huge thanks to David Flood (Monachus) for filling out for Markus on this tour. You saved us all and did an amazing job. And to Leo, our sound engineer, thanks for bringing out the best of us every night.
Photos and videos from the tour will eventually appear on this website, so hold tight.
We also have some bad news. We had two more shows booked before the summer, one at Misplaced Fest in Karlstad, Sweden and the other at Härden in Gothenburg, Sweden. Since Misplaced Fest has been canceled by the organizers, we felt that we should focus on getting all the songs for the upcoming album done instead, so we are cancelling the show in Gothenburg as well. But we will be working on some new live dates as soon as possible for the fall.
Our top priority right now is to get everything done before it’s time to hit the studio in July. So no more live shows for a while.
Lublin to replace Warszawa gig
Hey folks! Since the show in Warszawa, Poland on April 8th was cancelled, we are confirmed to play at Tektura in Lublin, Poland instead. A huge thanks to Pawel and Mike who fixed this so fast and in the midst of all the chaos that has stricken the underground scene in Warszawa. We owe you guys and we are forever greatful.
So with two weeks to go until the tour starts, we hope that there will not be any more changes. See you all on the road!

Gig in Warszawa cancelled
Due to the situation in Warszawa, where the venue Elba Squat has been attacked and now will face eviction, we are sad to inform you all that our gig on April 8th has been cancelled. We would like to send our support and love to those who live, run and support Elba in Warszawa right now. Don’t let those fuckers grind you down! Read more about this over at IDIOTEQ.com.
Visit the Elba Squat website here and support them: http://elba.bzzz.net/
We are working on finding another city to replace this gig with. More info will follow soon.
Tour update and final dates
Since the show in Warszawa, Poland on April 8th is now confirmed, we can announce that the tour is completed. It looks really good and we can’t wait to hit the road. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, Markus will sadly sit this one out. It’s extremely unfortunate and he will be missed tremendously on this tour. As Markus replacement we have recruited our friend David Flood (Monachus) to shoulder the responsibility as our drummer on this tour.
Anyway, we are very eager to head out on this tour.

Artist to Artist interview at CVLT Nation
Since CVLT Nation’s great review of our debut 7″ was published, we were asked to take part in their Artist to Artist interview series. Of course we couldn’t say no, so we teamed up with our friends in Walk Through Fire and the interview was conducted between Sonny Stark of Age of Woe and Ufuk Demir of Walk Through Fire.
Today, part one of this interview – where Sonny answer questions from Ufuk – has been published online over at CVLT Nation’s website. Tomorrow you can read the second part of the interview, where Ufuk will answer questions from Sonny, so be sure to check that out as well.
As if that wasn’t enough, Age of Woe will also be featured in the Sonic Cathedrals mixtape series that will be launched soon. We’ll keep you posted on that!

Leaving 2011 in the dust…
2011 was a great year in many ways for Age of Woe. We recorded and released our debut 7″ EP in September, and digitally through Pivotal Rockordings in December, which received a lot of positive reactions and great reviews all around.
To promote the release, we decided to live stream a short set we played at the Belly of the Whale studio in Gothenburg. It was a very cool event and nothing any of us had ever done before. It turned out to be more successful than we’d ever thought it could be. Hopefully we will be able to release this live recording in some way during 2012.
We also played a lot of cool shows during the year, including a mini-tour in Germany. We ended the year by playing at the Scorched Tundra Festival at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg together with As You Drown, Zombiekrig, Marionette and Eldrimner. It was a great night and a lot of people attended this newborn festival.
During the second part of 2011 we started to work on the next big project, which will be our first full length album. It culminated in a trip to a cottage in the woods, where we isolated ourselves for a week to work more intensely on the album. The recording of this album are planned for April/May, and so far it looks very promising.
We know that this year will be even more productive and intense for Age of Woe. For starters, we have a European tour coming up in April and even more shows to be confirmed during the first part of 2012. We are also working on some other cool stuff that we hope can be revealed soon, so stay alert and keep your eyes open.
